I ordered this set of salt & pepper grinders to replace a set I’ve been using for some years.These two identical grinders are made predominantly of glass with a stainless steel grinder cap & a ceramic rotor. As they are identical & they have no specific references to salt & pepper, you can use with of them for any type of grinding seasoning so it doesn’t just have to be salt & pepper. They are really simple to fill with a glass bowl that unscrews from the grinding cap so you don’t have to worry about getting parts in the right place or the grinding plates moving like I did with my old ones. The self contained grinder is simple to adjust with an easily accessible screw & it is easy to see the difference between being wound out for a coarse mill or wound in for a fine mill. The ceramic rotor is a tough material & is generally considered better than stainless steel rotors. Although ceramic can be more fragile for heavy duty grinding, it’s unlikely to be an issue for seasoning & if you drop the unit then you’re more likely to break the glass than damage the rotor. It doesn’t matter whether you grind clockwise or anticlockwise as it works both ways so it doesn’t matter which dominant hand you use. Also, as both grinders have ceramic rotors, you don’t have the issue of having to use the stainless steel one for pepper & the plastic one for salt or the metal rusting or the plastic clogging up.They come with a large size bowl which takes a much bigger volume so doesn’t need to be repeatedly filled. They also have a removable cap to cover the grinding end so that you don’t end up with a pile of seasoning spread on your table or in your cupboard. The only warning I would give is that the collar that screws onto the glass has a thin wall so don't squeeze it as you turn it otherwise it ends up out of shape & difficult to get on.They are really competitively priced & cheap enough to order another couple of sets so you can have different varieties on hand. It also means you can buy some herbs & spices in a different form & grind them yourself to get a better flavour. They also work well & as an alternative to a pestle & mortar for dried herbs when you want a finer grind for more delicate textures.

This is a really stylish pair of salt and pepper grinders. With a glass body that you simply unscrew from the top part, they are very easy to fill and hold a good quantity of corns or crystals without being too large. They are a great size for every day use on your dining table, or to have by the hob for seasoning your recipes.I have replaced my original ones with this set as they look great and are very easy to use. What I like is the well fitted too, which keeps them easy to clean, but also keeps them dust free too and if knocked over, it stops any salt or pepper bits from going all over the place.At first the top part was a little stiff, but after a few uses this has freed up a bit and whilst easier to remove, does not mean it’s just going to fall off if knocked over. For the price, I am really impressed with the quality and would have expected to pay a fair amount more. The grinder is easily adjusted to suit the size of salt or pepper bits you want too.

These grinders look great on the table—sleek, modern, and well-made. The glass body means I can see how much is left, and the adjustable coarseness is perfect when switching between fine seasoning and chunkier grinds. They feel solid and not flimsy like some cheaper ones. Definitely an upgrade from my old plastic grinders!

Giving these a 3 as I found them to be quite flimsy compared to other grinders I have owned. They were not very heavy and didn't seem the best quality. Not sure if I will use them to be honest. They were hard to use to start off with as I found I had them the wrong way up. Size-wise they are nice and big and they look good, but overall, pretty flimsy as I said.
